DIY Apothecary Jars

So I saw this idea on Pinterest (of course!) and decided to try it.  I just love Apothecary Jars for storage, but they can be expensive!!! Ive even watched to see if the jars at Hobby Lobby would go low enough for me to buy a bunch of, but then I found this and just had to try it. This project cost me a total of around $1.30, how cool is that lol.

Here's what you'll need:
 Some Spaghetti/sauce jars
, spray paint
and wooden knobs.

I had the jars already just needed to use the sauce and save them back, I also had the spray paint since I do alot of painting projects. All I had to do was buy the wooden knobs I fond them at Wal-mart in the craft section. Also don't forget the hot glue gun, to glue the wooden knobs to the jar lid.

Here's some jars that give you an idea of what to use. I actually ended up using the Turkey Gravy jar, a cheese dip jar, and a salsa jar.

After gluing the knob to the lid, you spray paint and fill with whatever you need to store.
I made mine for the bathroom to store cotton balls, Q-Tips and makeup pads.

Also I found some string and thought it would be cute so I just tied it on and cut.

This was a fun, cheap, and very useful project. I cant wait to make some more Apothecary Jars for the other bathroom and the kitchen :)

New Crockpot Recipe I Created Today!

New Dish

So I love putting things together and making new dishes/recipes. Today I did just that!

Heres what inspired me to make something new and different in the crockpot.

I cooked this just like it said on the box, but in the crockpot. Before I started these I cooked the chicken breast in the crockpot throughout the day. I set aside the chicken and the broth. When the potatoes asked for water I used the chicken broth.(Don't throw broth out, I ended up adding lots more when needed) After potatoes were about done I added the already cooked and shredded chicken breasts 2-3.
Once everything was together I let cook for about 20 mins adding broth so the potatoes wouldn't burn to the side, I also added 1 cup sour cream, which made the dish!
To top it off, I put shredded cheese and more real bacon bits. I served it with green beans and buttered bread. My kids ate this up, and it was so easy half the work was already done with the Idohan box!!!

Heres finished project, looks like mashed potatoes, but taste so different and stil yummy, plus theres chicken in there!

Fun Easter Bath

Easter Bath

Saw this on Pinterest and just had to try it! It was a success with both my bathing beauties.

I filled 6 eggs with pom poms and little flowers for Chloe to hunt.
Then I took about 5 bags of Easter basket grass and spread it on top.
I think this would work better in a normal size tub, the grass would be thicker.
Also added it some some foam pieces like a Princess crown and build your own flip flops.

Throw in the kids and the FUN begins!!!

To clean up I grabbed as much grass and put it in a strainer, then once I put that grass away I used the strainer to scoop out the rest.

Little sister joins the Fun!

Chloe posed for a pic before she began.

 I found some pom poms!

Once Caylin could reach some grass in went straight to the mouth lol

Chloe quickly helps

Made and crown and flip flops

And the clean up!

White Chicken Enchiladas

This is one of mine and my family's favorite Pinterest Recipes. I have tried many recipes, some have failed, some have turned out ok, but this one is by far the best in our books!!! Its hard to find something that we will all eat and all really enjoy. I always make a batch of these along with homemade salsa and guacamole with chips. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

White Chicken Enchiladas

10 soft taco shells

2 cups cooked, shredded chicken (We love cheese, so I add lots more)

2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

3 Tbsp. butter

3 Tbsp. flour

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup sour cream

1 (4 oz) can diced green chillies

I also use tooth picks if the shells are not staying rolled tightly.

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 pan

2. Mix chicken and 1 cup cheese. Roll up in tortillas and place in pan.

3. In a sauce pan, melt butter, stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Add broth and whisk until smooth. Heat over medium heat until thick and bubbly.

4. Stir in sour cream and chilies. Do not bring to boil, you don't want curdled sour cream.

5. Pour over enchiladas and top with remaining cheese.

6. Bake 22 min and then under high broil for 3 min to brown the cheese.

DIY Cupcake Stand

DIY Cupcake Stand

My Easy $6 cupcake stand

Supplies: All came from D.G.
1. 3 plates
2. 3 glasses. I used Margarita glasses for the top 2 and a regular cup upside down for the base.
3. Glue gun/glue sticks

All plates and cups were $1 a piece :)
I played around with the design to make sure I found the way I like it most.
Then just heat gun and glue!!!

So easy and super cheap, now we have a pretty Springy cupcake stand for our Easter cupcakes!
Ive made cupcake stands in the past, I used glass plates and glass candle stick holders all from The Dollar Store. But I'am really liking the plastic better since I have 5 kids. This makes me feel safer when I have lots of little hands rushing to grab cupcakes lol.

Here's a pic of the different designs I tried before picking the one above.

Summer Pasta Salad

Here's  my recipe for a Fun, Easy, Colorful, and I cant forgot Yummy pasta salad!!!

1. 1 bag/box of Noodles. Here I used Garden Rotini. You can use any noodles you prefer, I like to      use bow tie and the kids really love when I use spaghetti noodles. Though I love the colors of the Garden Rotini noodles.

2. 1 bottle of Italian dressing. I use whatever I have a coupon for or what is on sale that day.

3. 2-4 diced tomatoes depending on size and how many you like in the salad. I used a container of cherry tomatoes sliced into thirds, I loved the way they looked.

4. 1 large cucumber peeled and diced nicely

5. 1 can medium olives sliced

6. Add a little salt and pepper for taste

7. I topped it with a piece of basil from my basil plant in my kitchen. It really added an amazing flavor and looked great too.

                                            Stir, Chill, and Enjoy!!!
